Murnahan Reunion -- July 2010

My brother (Frank) and sisters (Amy, Patrice, and Zane) grew up in Greenup, KY, so we got together over July 4th weekend in Greenup with the main purpose to attend the Murnahan family reunion scheduled that weekend.  Zane and her two boys drove in from Maryland on Wednesday, Jerry and I drove in on Thursday, and Frank and his wife and two daughters flew in from Florida on Friday.  We all stayed at Amy's house in Greenup, and Patrice popped in and out over the weekend since she lives nearby.

Nine of us got together Friday afternoon to watch the latest Twilight movie (Eclipse) while some of the others did "manly" things.  Friday evening we sat on the deck and enjoyed a Giovanni's dinner while watching the Ohio River roll by.

Saturday we started the day by decorating Amy's golf cart and several bicycles for the Greenup parade later that day.  Then we loaded up everyone in three vehicles and headed to Gallipolis, OH, for the Murnahan reunion where we ate AWESOME home cooking and visited with our aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Then we headed back to Greenup where we helped with parade registration and visited old friends.  Even though we all claimed to be too full to eat another bite, we could not resist the great food that Amy's neighbors prepared and invited us to indulge in.  After the kids shot water balloons into the Ohio River and played with fireworks, we took our primo seats on the bank and watched a wonderful fireworks display.

Our thanks go to Amy (AND PHILLIP) for being such great hosts.  It was a fun and relaxing weekend that was enjoyed by everyone.
